"Learn English While You Travel: 3 Easy Tips"
“Learn English While You Travel: 3 Easy Tips That Actually Work”
Hey you, suitcase slinger!
If you're out in the world (or dreaming of it), this one’s for you.
I’ve spent nearly a decade teaching English in China and now I’m off to my next stop in Asia. And I can tell you—nothing teaches you real English like getting lost, ordering the wrong food, or chatting with a local about the weatherwhen you’re both sweating like you’ve run a marathon.
Here’s what’s actually worked for my students who’ve tried to learn while they explore.
🚶♂️1. Talk to Strangers (Yes, Really)
Say hi to the café guy. Ask the hostel receptionist about her hometown. Compliment someone’s T-shirt at a market.
It doesn’t have to be Shakespeare. Try:
“Where’s a good place to eat?”
“What’s that?” (pointing to a snack, animal, or statue works)
“Do you speak English?”
Use real life to build real confidence.
🎧 2. Music + Movement = Magic
Turn your walks or train rides into English time.
🎧 Pick English songs you like (The Beatles, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran…)
✍️ Then do this:
Write down lyrics you understand
Try to guess missing words
Google the lyrics and compare
Boom—vocab boost + listening upgrade.
📱3. Use My Journal for Daily Practice
I created a journal that doesn’t feel like homework.
Each day, you answer speaking prompts like:
“Describe what happened today in 3 sentences.”
Or:
“What’s one new thing you noticed in English?”
It’s made for people who want real-life English—travelers, expats, or anyone tired of textbook fluff.

Final Thought:
If you’re lucky enough to travel, you’ve got the best language school in the world: the world itself.
So go get lost, order weird food, and speak up (even if it’s wrong).
